Microblading Hairstroke,
Ombre & Combination Brows
RECONSTRUCT AND DEFINE.
What is Microblading?
Microblading, unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. using a hand tool with ultra fine needles, each 'hair' is gently etched into the skin, giving an incredibly natural, realistic look.
Perfect for those who have normal/dry skin with fine, relatively evenly dispersed hair, that want the most natural look, or want to define their brows and fill in gaps. It can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct and is excellent for those with little, to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age, or over tweezed.
What are Ombre or Powder Brows?
Ombre/powder brows are done using a digital machine, giving you that "filled in" look.
Full shaded brows can range from a soft powdery look to a more dense and bold “Instagram brow” look.
Shading is better suited for those who have oilier skin or who like the look of brow makeup.
What are Combination Brows?
Combination Brows are a really popular method combining both Microblading hair strokes with a powder effect mid to ends, to still give that defined look.
Perfect for those that have dense, uneven eyebrows and still want the natural look of some hairlike strokes at the front of their brows.
This works for clients who don’t have an oily t-zone, as microblading strokes can heal less crisp on oilier skin.
How long should I allow for the appointment?
The appointment will usually take 1.5-2 hours, this includes shaping and mapping the brows and selecting a colour best suited.
Will my eyebrows be shaved off?
Definitely not! The more brow hair the better, to help keep them looking as natural as possible!
How long does it last?
Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature) an skincare routine. Clients who tan, or use products with AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster as the skin will resurface faster.
A touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. If left fade over time a slight shadow may remain.
If you are a frequent smoker, "sun worshipper" or have an irregular thyroid, liver, stomach, hormonal imbalance, oily or porous skin, you may have poor retention.
Is the inital top up necessary?
Yes, without the top up skin regeneration may cause you to loose pigment when healing, causing the brows to look uneven or patchy.
What is the healing process?
Day 1 - Finely detailed, slight redness
Day 2-4 - They become a few shades darker/more crisp/filled in looking as they form a light scab. This is only temporary, don't panic!
Day 5-12- The scab naturally exfoliates, peels & flakes away over the course of several days. The fresh skin underneath is white & has a milky, waxy coating, making it appear that the brows are too light. Be patient!
Day 10-30 - The colour may appear light, but will slowly come back to life & bloom back to the surface as it heals. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true colour, as it will take on new strength.
Can I get my touch up session sooner than 4 weeks?
Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after initial microblading session as pigment colour has not fully settled into the skin.
Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.
Is it painful?
Regarding prior care is strictly followed, the pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Although having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure and it is recommended you don’t have it done on day 1 or 2 of your cycle. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.
Am I suitable?
Microblading is not suitable for the following candidates:
Using Accutane
Heart conditions or using heart medications
Diabetics (will require a doctor's note)
Those who have had Botox in the last 2 weeks
Those who have had been in the sun 2 weeks prior
Those who have had a chemical peels in the last 2 weeks
Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine
Pregnant or nursing clients
Under 18
Those with blood clotting issues.
Prior Care
It is vital you do not have hot chcolate, tea, or coffee (including decaf) cigarettes, fizzy or ibuprofen 48 hours prior!
Fat burners, aspirin, glucosamine, vitamin C, turmeric, vitamin E, ginger, fish oil or blood thinning tablets, skin nail or hair tablets should be stopped one week prior!
Any Vitamin A/Retinol products & sun exposure /sunbeds should of been stopped one month prior!
If these instructions are not followed you will bleed out the pigment and it will result in poor retention, the end result will not be soft or natural, ruining the end result! Not too mention your sensitivity levels will be extremely high.
I cannot stress enough how much it breaks my heart when prior care isn’t followed. It is such an expensive treatment and something you will wear everyday, why wouldn’t you want it to look the very best it can.
It is so disheartening to start microblading and then find out the prior care hasn’t been strictly followed! Microblading can look so soft, natural and beautiful, but if the prior care isn’t followed it will be harsh, hair strokes will not heal crisp, but blurred and thick!
Power/ombré or combination brows will not heal soft, if the prior care isn’t followed.
There are so many brows I have created that I love, but also so many I have started & know how the finished result will heal, leaving me feel disheartened.
PLEASE follow it strictly, it’s only temporary and I can guarantee amazing end results, if you work with me!
